Translated Vase

In a creative process similar to recycling, Yee Sookyung collects and reconstructs ceramic shards into monumental and amorphous masses. She calls the assemblages “my children.” This ceramic installation was made with fragments of broken celadons that were rejected by the potters who made them. The work is therefore “green” in both its color and its kindness to the natural environment. Translated Vase is one of Yee’s more recent works made of celadon fragments.
