DescriptionComplete tunic of heavy coarse cotton, all-over design of lozenges enclosing alternately a conventionalized bird motif and a stepped pyramid medallion painted in red-brown, medium brown, dark brown, deep brownish-cream, and ivory (original color of fabric); large brown lozenge as yoke around neck slit.
Provenance1941/1942, probably acquired in South America by Roland Terry (b. 1917 - d. 2006), Seattle; 1947, sold by Roland Terry to the MFA. (Accession Date: June 12, 1947)
