Provenance17th or 18th century, probably purchased by either Philip Herbert, 5th Earl of Pembroke (b. 1621 - d. 1668), or his son Thomas Herbert, 8th Earl of Pembroke (b. 1656 - d. 1733), Wilton House; by descent to their heirs, including Reginald Herbert, 15th Earl of Pembroke (b. 1880 - d. 1960), who sold 16 albums that contained the print collection; July 5-6, 1917, Wilton House sale, Sotheby's, London, lot 48 (2 prints), purchased for £15.10 by the MFA . (Accession Date: October, 1917)
