DescriptionLooking westward along the Riva. In the distance, the Ducal Palace and the Library, with the campanile and domes of San Marco, and the campanile of San Salvatore beyond. Brown boats in the foreground, with gray sails; ultramarine sky with white clouds shadowed gray; blue water; red on a sail in the near boat, reechoed in touches on the buildings.
Probably painted while Bonington was in Venice, April 20- May 19, 1826
