DescriptionWhite satin, small separate flowers and round spots worked with chain stitch and light and dark green, yellow and pink are scattered over the fronts. On the edges and lapels of the pockets, are worked a vine and festoons of flowers. Done with chain stitch and violet, red, pink, white, green and yellow silk. Embroidered buttons. Worn by Mr. Matthew Ridley, a maternal ancestor of the donors, who died in 1789. See notes on 17.1440-17.1445.
