Many watches were secured to a jacket or waistcoat with a chain and a fob, a decorative counterbalance.

DescriptionGold in repousse design set with a faceted stone. The stone appears to be foil backed to appear yellow. It is most likely glass or quartz. There is a significant chip to the stone. It has been published as topaz.
