DescriptionThis is a fragment of a wig with a small piece of the ear. The tresses of the wig are indicated by incised lines. This is a fragment of black granodiorite with break areas looking almost melted. There are no obvious pink feldspar veins or inclusions.
ProvenanceFrom Nubia (Sudan), Kerma, K X grave K 1078 debris. 1914: Excavated by the Harvard University–Boston Museum of Fine Arts Expedition; assigned to the MFA by the government of Sudan.
