DescriptionA wine taster with a circular bowl with steep, slightly curved sides. Fleur-de-lis handle has a ring grip on the underside. The bowl is engraved on the interior with St. Peter in a circle surrounded wit hfoliage. The exterior is engraved with scrolling foliage, birds, and a man's head, as well as the inscription : L BERTON (crossed out) 1768 F CLERGEAU.
Marks Maker's Mark: PM, the rest is illegible. Discharge Mark: possibly 1734-1744: a crowned fleur-de-lis (Helft, 133). Other: two partial crowns, and two illegible marks, one perhaps a head, on the handle or rim.
