Woman's dress in two parts (petticoat)

American, 1880-1885. Dress in two parts, woven with silk and alpaca with cream colored background having small self figure of clovers, over this is a small spray of roses and thistles in a twisted horn brocaded with brilliant polychrome silks, tightly fitted at waist, long waisted, with point in center front, buttoned down center front, square neckline, slight peplum with superimposed self bow in center back, long sleeves sleeves and neck trimmed with silk machine made lace, wired pleated standing collar, under lace, of white satin, (b) skirt, front of skirt extending well to sides of white satin quilted 18th century petticoat, back of skirt elaborately draped and heavily lined and interlined with same material as bodice, entire bottm edged with pleated cream colored satin ruching. Skirt longer in back forming a train.
