ProvenanceEdward W. Hooper until 1901; to his brother-in-law and executor Horace D. Chapin (1850-1937) for safekeeping; to Louisa Hooper Thoron after she was married to Ward Thoron; by inheritance to her daughter Faith Thoron Knapp (died 2003); given at her request to MFA September 17, 2003. In 1911 Chapin wrote W. H. Downes that this picture, "Bahama," was one of several Homers in his house, but belonged to the Hooper estate.
