Two panel, four selvedge huipil. Indigo dyed plain weave ground patterned with narrow horizontal bands of purple, white, blue and red geometric, interlocking chevron and zigzag patterning. Red, green, yellow, purple and blue band along the bottom with row of flowers. Seam down center.


February 1940, purchased in Guatamala City from Mrs. Tocsica Townsend Roach by Mrs. George R. Rowland, Boston; gift of Mrs. Rowland to the MFA (Accession date: March 25, 2009)
