Medium/Technique Bodice of silk and metal-wrapped threads; compound weave with supplementary weft patterning; trimmed with cotton braid; skirt of wool twill weave, trimmed with brocaded silk ribbon; blouse of cotton plain weave, trimmed with cotton bobbin lace; cotton lace collar; stomacher of cotton velvet, appliquéd with brocaded silk, embroidered with metallic yarns, pallettes and sequins, and trimmed with metallic bobbin lace and metallic gimp; apron of silk satin with complimentary weft float patterning, silk velvet, and brocaded silk satin ribbon; scarf of printed wool plain weave; cap of silk and metal-wrapped thread compound weave, embroidered with metal-wrapped threads, edged with metal-wrapped bobbin lace, and trimmed with silk grosgrain ribbon; 2 separate silk plain weave (grosgrain) ribbons

DescriptionBlack silk bodice, jacquard-woven with floral pattern in black and gold metal threads, with cotton braided lace-up front closure, lined with cotton plain weave, and basted to skirt. Red wool skirt with decorative brocaded band around hem. Off-white, longsleeved, button-down blouse with drawstring collarband and waistband and lace-trimmed cuffs. White cotton lace collar. Black triangular-shaped velvet stomacher with appliqued band of brocaded floral silk, and band of embroidered gold threads, metal palletes and sequins; edged with with gold metallic bobbin lace and gold metallic gimp. Black satin apron with jacquard-woven stylized floral pattern in greens and beiges, with black velvet waistband and pink and white brocaded silk ribbon ties. Bright red wool scarf printed with floral and geometric pattern in pinks, yellows, blues, and greens and trimmed with red wool fringe. Yellow silk and gold woven cap, embroidered with gold metallic threads, edged with gold metallic lace, and trimmed with large red silk grosgrain ribbon.
