Han woman’s domestic semi-formal coat (ao) in red silk satin with design of cherry blossoms, peonies, lotus, carp, bats, umbrellas, roses and basket of flowers at the center back in blue, white, green, and yellow silk embroidery and couched gold thread; the neck, front and bottom of the garment is trimmed with a band of black satin embroidered with blue silk and gold thread and blue silk with floral motif; block bands have design of scrolls, coins and swastikas couched in gold; side vents and side front closure with round gold metal buttons and silk loops; lined with light blue silk damask.
