Manchu woman’s full length red plain-weave silk coat with wide horse-hoof cuffs and embroidered design of floral roundels consisting of peonies, chrysanthemums, plum blossoms and butterflies in red, white, blue, green and yellow silk and gold metallic thread; hem of robe has design of mountain, waves and Buddhist symbols embroidered in silk; sleeves and front edge have dark blue twill-weave silk bands with floral motifs embroidered in silk and trimmed with appliquéd gilt braid and narrow bands with fretwork and floral motifs in metallic gold thread; side slits half way up robe; round metal floral buttons and gold silk button loops; lined with yellow plain-weave silk.
