Manchu woman’s domestic short coat (magua) for winter in olive green velvet with overall design of characters for long life (shou), endless knots, bats, swastika (wan=10,000) and clouds (yun) and repeating floral pattern at collar, neckline, front and sleeves; side opening with dark blue satin button loop closure; lined with yellow plain-weave silk.
This type of winter coat would have been worn with long wool pants.
