Han woman’s domestic surcoat (waitao) in navy silk satin with design of waves, flower roundels and scattered flowers over a cracked ice pattern embroidered with polychrome silk and couched with gold-wrapped thread; sleeve turnbacks of light blue silk satin with design of flowers, fans and gourds embroidered in silk and couched with gold thread; trimmed with black satin and gold ribbon appliqué; center front opening with black satin button and loop closure; lined with yellow plain-weave silk.
