Dress of printed silk twill (foulard), paisley pattern in blue, red, yellow, and brown. Fitted bodice, short cuffed sleeves cut in one with bodice, full, deeply pleated skirt. Bodice is cut on straight grain of fabric, with draped, pieced and pleated panels added in front. Skirt is cut on cross grain of same fabric, with the wider stripes of the pattern (imitating the end borders of a kashmir shawl) hidden in the pleats. Label in side bodice seam: “Christian Dior / Paris,” stamped “09651”; tape on back of label with hand-written number: 17416
