DescriptionA dress, made of 18th century Spitalfields brocade, wide flaring neckline, short very full puffed sleeves, bodice fitted to waist, skirt full with box pleats in front and at sides, gathered at back, hooked down center back, short cape collar with long points over sleves; fabric of dress cream colored taffeta (probably originally white), with vertical narrow stripes in satin weave and widely spaced powder if minute paired blossoms brocaded with green, blue, and red silk, sleeves made of rose pink silk; cape collar edged with fly fringe.
