Long sleeve, ivory, silk moiré day bodice or basquine with slight flare at hips and “pagoda” sleeves; front closure with seven hooks and four eyes (some missing); collar front and waist trimmed with box pleated satin ribbon; thread remnants across back collar and down front and above cuffs (once rimmed with lace, now removed)
Written on fabric label sewn inside bodice: "Waist of wedding dress of Georgiana Welles/ Had trimming and sleeves edged with point appliqué to match scarf veil/ Married John Osborn Sargent January 1854"
