An evening dress, of bright yellowish green satin with large-scale brocaded design of roses on long stems; bell shaped skirt plain with wide box pleat in center front stitched to knee, fullness and short train at back; bodice with wide square neck, very full puffed short sleeves, straight waistline, laced and hooked down center back with surplice closing to left shoulder, surplice line in front of bodice.
Probably worn by Sarah Choate (Mrs. Montgomery) Sears (1856-1935); By inheritance to her daughter, Mrs. J.D. Cameron Bradley; Gift to the MFA, Boston, September 14 1950.
