DescriptionHouse coat or lounge wear fashioned from a Japanese kimono (furisode) of purple silk crepe, resist dyed with a design of cherry blossoms, pine, peonies, maple, and a rocky landscape with waterfalls and embroidered in polychrome silks and gold-wrapped thread. A large peacock is embroidered on the front left side and the center back. Re-lined with pink silk plain weave and light blue silk plain weave block printed in gold with a design of swirling flower heads. Labelled at center back neck: "V. Babani / 98. Bd. Haussman PARIS"
