DescriptionThe youth stands on a small plinth, with right foot advanced and left hand on hip. He wears a short tunic belted at the waist, ornamented with a zigzag pattern at the neck, and with short sleeves. His hair, bound with a fillet, falls down the back in a triangular mass. On the underside of the plinth there is a rectangular projection, perforated near the top and designed to be fastened into the base by means of a pin or dowel. Right arm is missing.
ProvenanceBy date unknown: with T. Zoumpoulakis, 10 Edward Law, Athens (acquisition paperwork: said to have been found at Pheneos in Arcadia); purchased by MFA from T. Zoumpoulakis, February 1, 1934, for $1,266.25
