Two-piece belly of irregular-grain softwood with separate carved rose of wood in quatrefoil pattern with eight-petal flower at center. Neck and pegbox of ebonized wood, terminating in square finial decorated with bone set in black mastic. Tuning pegs of ebonized wood. Fingerboard of walnut with binding of bone; six tied-on frets of gut and one fret of wood. Nut of ivory. Bridge of ebonized beech with cap of ivory. Twelve strings in six pairs.
