A lotus petal design on the outside of the bowl was employed using incising and carving techniques. The deep grooves created when carving the lotus petal attracted large amounts of glaze, with the darker hue created in theses grooves giving the piece its multidimensional effect. A bright green glaze was applied all over the bowl.
Museum of Fine Arts, BostonSpecial Korean Pottery Fund, 1911 Accession number: 11.1834
