Under the direction of supervisors in the Collections Management division, the Collections Documentation Assistant will perform duties related to the cataloguing and housing of a recently acquired collection of postcards. Essential functions include: Safely transport objects to and from storage, office work space, and photography studio; Maintain accurate object location data in the Museum’s collections management database; Create electronic records, populating each record with appropriate core and administrative data; Prepare binders and binder pages to hold postcards; Assign unique indentifying numbers and label each postcard; House postcards in Mylar sleeves and prepare binders for storage; Assist in training and overseeing volunteers in following procedures to minimize handling of postcards and to ensure digital files are numbered correctly.

Candidates must have a B.A. in art-related field or equivalent knowledge and experience. Proficiency in working with electronic data/collections databases required. Knowledge of French preferred. The successful candidate must be precise and highly organized, have excellent communication skills, and work well as part of a team.
