Under the supervision of the Director, Research and Prospect Development, the Development Associate will support the prospect identification and research efforts of the MFA’s External Relations Division. Primary responsibilities include conducting prospect research using online and paper-based resources; drafting biographical, financial and philanthropic briefings on donors and prospective donors in support of staff and volunteer solicitation efforts; transferring donor files and other relevant paper documentation to digital image files; handling accounting and purchasing needs for the program.
Requirements include a bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years work experience, preferably in development research or a related field. Experience with relational databases, online research tools, and commercial databases desired. Ability to handle multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment while still producing quality work. Strong written, communication and organizational skills, with a high level of attention to detail. Good interpersonal skills and a team-oriented attitude. A high level of respect for confidentiality and ethical practices.
