Li Huayi

Li Huayi responded to one of the MFA’s greatest treasures, Nine Dragons by Chen Rong (1244), for his landscape Dragon Amidst Mountain Ridges. Watch as Li describes his re-imagining of the treasured handscroll. Li’s revelations and distinct approach can be seen in his final piece, an innovative screen designed with six vertical panels joined together and curved at the end, with a hanging scroll at the center a few inches in front of the panels.
