Gain technical skills and explore new possibilities

Whether you are new to art or advanced in your skills and seeking a creative challenge, Studio Art Classes for teens is a fun way to explore the medium, improve your technique, and meet other art enthusiasts!

Students learn from professional artists and educators

The Studio Art Classes instructor are experienced educators and professional artists.

Artwork from the teen "Charcoal and Pastel from the Figure" class

With a variety of drawing classes, students can build their drawing skills or strengthen their draftsmanship. From beginning drawing, focusing on perspective, to studying proportion and the human figure, there is a class for any level.

Use acrylics, watercolor, and other media to create your paintings

The first half of the class focuses on fundamental skills, including color relationships and theory; during the second half, work independently on your own projects.

Inspired by the Collection

Access to a world-class collection of art provides inspiration for studio exploration.

Explore printmaking

Discuss master prints in the museum, participate in classroom discussions, and with technical guidance, create original works.

Create sculpture from plaster, clay, stone, or wood

Explore volume, space, line, and texture to discover how each relates to building and carving three-dimensional forms.

Explore digital media classes, such as photography or animation

Discover photography through the digital camera to understand composition, the effects of light, and color within a photograph. Try creating your own animated film, from sequential drawings and stop-motion to computer and 3D animation.

Have fun with art!
