Summer 2013 Museum Council News

Dear Members and Friends,

As we welcome summertime in New England, I am pleased to share with you some updates from the Museum Council and highlights of events coming up this summer.

We recently hosted our largest event of the year, The Summer Party, the Museum Council’s annual black tie fundraising party on Saturday, June 8th. Over 400 of Boston’s most stylish, culturally-inclined, and decidedly philanthropic celebrated at the MFA and helped us raise vital funds to support the mission of the Museum. Photos from the event (thank you Helene Norton-Russell!) are online here and give a great sense of how much fun we had! In particular I would like to thank the Summer Party Co-Chairs, Gina Morda, Robert White, and Emi Winterer and the Summer Party Host Committee for working so hard to make this event a tremendous success.

I hope you can join us for some of the exceptional summer events coming up for the Museum Council this season including an invitation to attend the preview reception for the MFA’s latest fashion exhibition, Hippie Chic, on July 15 and Celebrate Summer! a Museum Council Family event on Saturday, July 27th that will explore images of summer in the Museum’s collection followed by an art-making activity.
