The Museum Council kicked off the season with a bang on September 18 with a fabulous season opener featuring short gallery talks by more than ten MFA curators, drinks and snacks, and a DJ mixing in the Shapiro Family Courtyard. More than 400 guests had the chance to mix and mingle at the Museum that evening and we were thrilled to welcome twenty new member households as a result of this new annual initiative.
Hands-down, our most glamorous event this fall was the exhibition opening for “Mario Testino: In Your Face,” as the blitz of social press highlighted. Museum Councilers with children in their lives celebrated Halloween at the MFA with gallery games, face painting, and music, and the SMFA Art Sale continued to be the place to score great works of art by both emerging and established artists.
We couldn’t have had all this fun without you! For a look at all the great things coming up for the spring and summer, be sure to visit the Museum Council events page for the latest events.

The Museum Council means so much to the MFA. Your generosity goes toward important operating support for Museum functions like art shipping and handling for the Museum’s curatorial departments, care materials for furniture, frames, and mounts across the collection, and community programming that engages tens of thousands of visitors each year. Your support ensures that this cultural treasure is available to everyone.
