Working with the staff of the Courses & Lectures Programs, as part of the larger Department of Contemporary Art & MFA Programs, this position will support the planning, coordination and production of the fall 2012 and winter/spring 2013 courses, and lectures. Possible programs intern candidates should be involved in are event production, art history, museum studies, adult education related course of study.
The intern will gain an understanding of planning and implementing course and lecture programming about art and culture for adult learners; and will expand their knowledge of art related subjects while experiencing the working environment of a major art museum. This internship will start in June and run through mid-August.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with projects pertaining to the marketing of and preparation for courses and lectures
• Assist with creating, editing and proofreading correspondence with speakers, artists and/or their representatives
• Communicate with internal staff as well as external constituents and stakeholders
• General office support as needed

• Strong interest in event management and/or art, adult education
• Experience and/or familiarity with event planning, art courses, administrative experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Ability to commit to at least 16 hours per week through August
• Ability to attend orientation on either Tues. May 28th (9am-12pm) or Tues. June 11th (9am-12pm)
