Founded in 1876, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, (the Museum School), is one of the oldest and largest museum schools in the country. The Artist Resource Center (ARC), the School’s Career Services department, helps students and alumni develop qualities of self-reliance and practical skills-based foundations in order that they may navigate their chosen career paths. Creative Futures, ARC’s entrepreneurship program, features weekly speakers, workshops and events that illuminate applications between art and business. The ARC administers Professional Practices courses showcasing myriad pathways to interdisciplinary careers in the arts. In addition, the ARC provides individualized advising to students and alumni, along with comprehensive online professional resources via artSource for employment, internships, grants, exhibition opportunities, residencies, and more.

The Artists Resource Center is seeking an intern who will support the basic daily functions of the Center and therein learn how the varied complex and competing issues which confront studying and emerging professional artists are balanced in a fast paced but intimate academic institution. Responsibilities:
• Enter artist resource information online
• Respond to phone and email inquiries
• Update resources
• Assist with office work
• Research special projects

Qualifications:
• Demonstrated professional communication skills, both oral and written
• Demonstrated strong organizational abilities
• Proven careful attention to detail
• Familiarity with computers, MS Office Software in particular
• Reliability and motivation
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to commit to 8-12 hours per week minimum; flexible schedule through mid August
• Ability to attend orientation on either Tues, May 28th (9am-12pm) or Tues, June 11th (9am-12pm)
