Under the direction of the Coordinator of Community Arts, the Home School Parent Volunteer assists with the distribution of Artful Adventures Home School information to families in and around the Boston area and plays an important role in connecting families to the various programs available at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as a liaison between the MFA and other home schooling parents.
• Post and distribute information about MFA Artful Adventures Home School classes via community networks, bulletin boards, websites, blogs, etc.
• Organize and maintain a database of emails and names for the purpose of communication and email reminders about classes and ticket purchases.
• Greet families upon arrival at the MFA, collect ticket stubs, answer questions, and direct children and families to appropriate age groups and instructors.

Qualifications/Skills:
• Friendly and outgoing personality
• Has at least one child who is actively being home schooled*
• Creative problem-solver
• Interest in museum education and inquiry-based learning
• Knowledge of home school networks in and around the Boston area

Schedule:
• Attend the Friday home school programming at the MFA
• Send out email reminders and post information on network sites/ blogs about ticket purchases and class topics to home schooling families each week
• Ability to commit to 4-5 hours per week on Fridays through mid June 2014

*Child(ren) of Home School Parent volunteer attend Artful Adventures Home School classes free of charge.
