Autumn at the MFA is all about Japan, with two new exhibitions highlighting the Museum’s renowned collection of Japanese art: “Takashi Murakami: Lineage of Eccentrics,” in which Murakami, one of the most imaginative and important artists working today, responds, in a collaboration with scholar Professor Nobuo Tsuji and the MFA, to masterworks from the Museum’s distinguished collection of Japanese art: and “Showdown! Kuniyoshi vs. Kunisada,” focusing on the two best-selling designers of ukiyo-e woodblock prints in 19th-century Japan. This workshop gives teachers the opportunity to explore both vibrant, exciting exhibitions and gain insight into the richness of the Museum’s collection.
