The Contemporaries visit the Fan Pier to celebrate a new era of connection and collaboration with the MFA’s historical partners, and the area’s growth as a home for arts organizations. Colleagues at the 119 year old Society of Arts and Crafts will welcome us to their new space (opened October 2016). On view will be the exhibition “Imagine Peace Now,” a selection of works exploring contemporary gun violence juried by artist Shepard Fairey, Monica Moses (American Craft Magazine), and the MFA’s Emily Zilber. Then we’ll head to the ICA for a guided look at Nari Ward: Sun Splashed the largest survey of the artist’s work to date. These tours will be followed by a special reception where we can learn about past collaborations and welcome future ones.
