Comic Showdown
What are comics and how are they made? Take a look at Japanese printmaking and discuss the influence it had on comic books.
Activity: Draw your own comic that tells a story that is important to you.

Lines
Line, one of the elements of art, can be found everywhere. Compare how two artists – a painter and sculptor – each use it to describe a landscape.
Activity: Discover and master a technique for achieving perfectly straight lines in painting using acrylic paint, painter’s tape, and acrylic gel medium.

Teens

Close Look: “China’s 8 Brokens”
Discover how artists cataloged China’s past during a period of immense change.
Activity: Create one-of-a-kind mono prints on scroll style paper using gel plates, textured objects, and printmaking ink.
