Victor Coelho, professor, Music; affiliate faculty, American and New England Studies Program, Boston University
This music-and video-illustrated lecture examines the critical role of England in the creation of a new popular culture by focusing on three aspects of music: the British blues revival, the early career of the Rolling Stones, and the influence of the Who. Music is discussed within the themes of the course, particularly as it relates to tradition, fashion, and America.
