Curt DiCamillo, fellow, Royal Society of the Arts; president, The DiCamillo Companion, Ltd.
Dr. Johnson’s famous quote, “When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford” could be aptly applied to the early 20th century, when London was the most dynamic city in the world. By the mid-20th century, however, the empire was gone, and London had to adjust to being the capital of a former world power.
