Spielberg’s beloved classic tells the story of Roy Neary (Richard Dreyfus), an ordinary guy from Indiana whose life changes after an encounter with an unidentified flying object. Also starring François Truffaut, Melinda Dillon, and Teri Garr, Close Encounters explores the mysteries of our universe with a sense of humanity and wonder. The film won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography and was nominated for several others, including Best Picture.
