Facing Mirrors by Negar Azarbaijani (Iran, 2011, 101 min.). This strong Iranian drama has screened at numerous international festivals and has been warmly received by critics and audiences. The movie beautifully narrates the story of a Rana, transgender girl fleeing Iran in order to have surgery with the help of a female taxi driver, who is shocked by the Rana’s descision, yet feels compelled to help.
