Ghost Hunting (Istiyad Ashbah). Documentary directed by Raed Andoni (2017, 94 min.). In Arabic and English with English subtitles.

To confront the ghosts that haunt him, director Andoni assembles an eclectic group of ex-inmates of Israel’s infamous Russian Compound (al-Moskobiya) to construct a replica of the interrogation center where he himself was jailed at age 18. From fragmentary memory, day after day, the former prisoners reenact their traumas using techniques that are reminiscent of the Theatre of the Oppressed. Winner of the Silver Bear for Best Documentary at the 2017 Berlin International Film Festival.
