A Happy Event (Un heureux événement) by Rémi Bezançon (2011, 110 min.). Barbara, a young graduate student, is madly in love with her boyfriend Nicolas when she learns she is pregnant. Initially shocked, Barbara oscillates between excitement and trepidation, but once the baby is born, everything becomes alarmingly real, and they are faced with the reality of raising a child. An honest and humorous portrayal of first-time parents coping with the happiness, anxiety, and fear that comes with life-changing experiences. “Sexy and humorous . . . Bezançon is that rare French helmer whose abilities exceed those of many Hollywood comedy directors” (Variety).
The Museum opens 30 minutes before the screening.
