Ivy (Sarmaşık) by Tolga Karaçelik (2015, 104 min.). The freighter Sarmaşık is to sail to a loading port in Egypt before continuing with her cargo to Angola. As she heads south from Istanbul, the ship’s owner goes bankrupt, leaving the crew unpaid for months. They discover that there is a lien on the ship, preventing them from going ashore. Tensions rise among the crew as food and water supplies diminish, and the ship becomes a battlefield where men hunt men.

A discussion with the director follows the screening.
