Jews and Baseball by Peter Miller (2010, 91 min.). Renowned sports writer Ira Berkow hits one out of the park with Jews and Baseball. Narrated by Dustin Hoffman, this documentary highlights the contributions of Jewish major leaguers to America’s favorite pastime, while exploring baseball’s special place in the hearts of American Jews. A rare interview with Sandy Koufax is among the film’s highlights. Director Peter Miller hails from Lexington, while Newton’s Martin Abramowitz, founder of JewishMajorLeaguers.org, appears in the film – as, of course, does Red Sox player Kevin Youkilis.
