Karski & The Lords of Humanity by Slawomir Grünberg (Documentary, 2015, USA/Poland, 72 min.). In English.

Jan Karski’s astounding bravery comes to light through a mix of documentary footage and animation. Karski, a Polish underground courier, risked his life in a series of visits to the Warsaw Ghetto and a Nazi transit camp in order to deliver eyewitness accounts of the unfolding Holocaust to the Allies. Despite his hopes that his reports would awaken the consciences of world leaders in Great Britain and the United States (or as he would call them, “the Lords of Humanity”), his reports fell on deaf ears. But his testimonies are some of the most important accounts we have today—and Karski’s efforts stand as an example of heroism in the face of atrocity.

Followed by a Q&A with the director.
