Minority Report by Steven Spielberg (USA, 2002, 146 min.). Presented on 35mm film.
Based on Philip K. Dick’s short story of the same name, Minority Report is a high-concept detective thriller set in Washington, DC in 2054. In this future, police are able to arrest and convict murderers before they commit their crime. This “Precrime” technology relies on the prophecies of three mutant humans who have the ability to see murders unfolding in the future. Tom Cruise plays John Anderton, the head of the Precrime unit, who is himself accused of the future murder of a man he hasn’t even met. To clear his name and unravel the mystery, John must submerge himself in a dangerous underworld and embark on a search for the man he is destined to kill.
