Mood Indigo (L’écume des jours) by Michel Gondry (2013, 124 min). Romain Duris and Audrey Tautou star in Gondry’s tale of a young couple living in an imaginative world that is upended by a deadly diagnosis. A piano that makes cocktails, a walking doorbell, and a dining room table on roller skates are a few of the visual treats in a film filled with charming surreal flourishes. Nominated for three 2014 César Awards.
