Murder on the Orient Express by Sidney Lumet (1974, 128 min.). Detective Hercule Poirot (Albert Finney) is returning to England aboard the Orient Express. A fellow passenger, wealthy American businessman Mr. Ratchett, wants to hire Piorot to protect him against numerous death threats—but Poirot turns him down. The next morning, however, Ratchett is found stabbed to death in his cabin. As he begins to question the 13 suspects—played by Hollywood’s best actors like Ingrid Bergman, Vanessa Redgrave, Sean Connery, Lauren Bacall, and Anthony Perkins—he begins to piece the complex crime together. Bergman won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
