One of a Kind (Mon âme par toi guérie) by François Dupeyron (2013, 124 min.). Tangled in his unhappiness, Frédi (Grégory Gadebois, in a César-nominated performance) refuses to acknowledge he’s inherited his mother’s gift as a faith healer until an accident forces him to right his wrong. Word gets out about his abilities and soon everything changes, but not necessarily for the better. “[A] soulful drama . . . undeniably affecting” (Variety).
