Tales of Intransigence by Reis Çelik (2005, 90 min.). Without a proper screenplay, and only one professional actor in the cast, Çelik undertakes an experiment in filmmaking that celebrates the tradition of communal participation in storytelling. A race between a horse-drawn sleigh and a minibus on the borders of a frozen lake forms the framework for the various stories told by the passengers, all with the common theme of intransigence. Discussion with director follows screening.
